TESTIMONIALS

My name is David Greenwalt. According to IMDB.com I am an “American Screenwriter” and Television writer/producer/director/co-creator.  I have been writing for 42 years.

This letter is my strong endorsement of a wonderful talent, Bill Bigelow, an excellent Television writer and a wonderful playwright. I have followed Bill’s writing for over 30 years and I would dearly love to take a writing workshop from him myself.

Bill is masterful at creating compelling stories.  He has a unique ability to convey the craft of dramatic writing to others.

He is one of a kind.

“I have known Bill Bigelow for 30 years. Not only a good writer but a great guy!  He's also an excellent playwright and wrote an episode of "Grimm" for us that was terrific.”

Jim Kouf

Exec Producer, Creator of Grimm
Writer, Rush Hour, National Treasure

“One would be hard pressed to find a better teacher when it comes to dramatic writing. Bill teaches with a powerful command of the written word and the ability to pass it on.

And he's really funny.”

Dennis Virkler

Twice Oscar-nominated for Best Editing of a Feature Film, “The Hunt for Red October,” and “The Fugitive.”

Along with 40 other film editing credits.

Bill’s recent students have won high accolades. One playwright was a semifinalist at the Ashland New Plays Festival, an offshoot of the prestigious Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Another was a finals winner for a one-hour TV pilot through the well-known Blue Cat competition. A writing team became semi-finalists in the 2024 ScreenCraft Spring Pitch contest. And one was a semifinalist in the hugely renowned Academy Nicholl Fellowship, which is overseen by the people who run the Oscars – the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
“William Bigelow has influenced my writing: three features and two shorts. Collectively, he read 100's of scenes at least twice while also providing thorough and insightfully generous comments (from structural considerations to dialogue suggestions to larger plot queries). His on-the-mark questions, sometimes difficult, indicated that my writing was closely considered which eventually helped shape what these screenplays needed to become. Isn’t this what it’s about?”
